Indigo Boro Coat
The Indigo Boro coat is made from two different obi belts and kimono leftovers. It is a modern take on a much treasured historical garment.
The coat is designed in a loose, enveloping form, unlined for a lighter feel. Free from excessive details, the straight-cut silhouette is pleated at the waist, so the oversized shape doesn’t overwhelm your frame. Style it with cropped jeans and sculptural jewellery.
About Boro:
Boro came to signify clothing worn by some Japanese farming families who mended their garments with leftover fabric scraps, typically cotton, hemp or linen. These garments represent esteem and respect for available resources and were often handed down over generations, eventually resembling a patchwork after decades of mending.
